Getting further into the opening, the audience can see a young school girl entering the scene, on her way from home. The mise en scene in this scene, is the characters costumer. Her costume gives away her identity for the movie, this appeals to teenagers especially the 15 year old girls because they are also in secondary school. This costume of a school girl, is relevant to the audience because they are watching from her point of view. As well as, the character and female audiences have something to relate to.
The location of the opening is in an estate, London which appeals to teenagers as well as young adults because the people who also live in areas like in Islington, can relate. A school girl, the first to be seen attracts teenagers, it could also be males as they may want to see more of a female character rather than a male.
The rough cut feedback, was to make sure the audience was able to see the back and forth typing between Kaylin and Damien. Therefore, including a split screen of Damien typing, as well as viewing what he is typing draws in the attention of the audience. This is because, the unique editing of the split screen, is unusual and appealing because of the in sync elements of the split screen.
There was a cinemas screening, with the whole AS media students which is a convenient time to showcase the opening as the target audience are teenagers, the media students ages between 16 and 17 years old. This is a benefit to our evaluation because we could ask for their thoughts and opinions this could be recorded as evidence. The video has been posted on YouTube which appeals out target audience because mostly every teenager uses YouTube and it is easily accessible.
The feedback from the cinema viewing, was overall a positive gathering of opinions by our target markets themselves, the 15+ teenagers. They were impressed, at the way we used social media to present out generation, in this era and I feel that we have successfully breached our goal of engaging the audience.
Many teenagers have become much more computer savvy, and social media savvy than any other ages. The
technological divide has created a new generation gap, many teenagers are consumed in the world of social media, and therefore creating a unique media product that tries to get across to teenagers, is that sometimes... social media can be dangerous when meeting someone online. At least 90% of teenager (surveyed) say that they have at least created an online profile for at least one social networking site. The most common social networks is Facebook and YouTube this fits into our promotion because launching our media product on both of these sites would attract the target market directly, and boost our popularity.
