However, this thriller could appeal to females as the female protagonist has the most dominant role. The wider audience, however could be anyone from teenage years to adults in their 30's as the main male character is around his 20's.
The psychological thriller, predominantly is targeted at teenagers and young adults because it is much more thrilling and breathe taking, as the victim in the opening is a young school girl. Our unique selling point, is our idea of Social Networks, by using the logos of famous and recognizable social networks in the titles, it allows the audience to get a general idea of what the film is based around. Also, there isn't any music, which
is another unique selling point because it creates tension as the sound effects increases and changes.
The thriller opening has been completed, and the feedback from our fellow students said that they love the idea of the social network logo titles, and the smooth match cuts was also pointed out, this keeps the audience hooked. The interesting narrative hook of the flashbacks, draws in the teenage audience to watch the movie, as the psycho-like flashbacks creates adrenalin for the audience, persuading them to keep on watching.
We went to an independent cinemas, to watch all of the AS Media groups opening thrillers, and at the end we got feedback from our target audience. The overall, positive feedback was that they loved how social media is presented through the titles sequence, and how unique the idea is. This suggest that we have successfully targeted our audience, engaging them in our film and making them want to carry on watching.
