When media products are being created there are a variety of Social Groups that are specifically targeted: Class & Status, Age, Ethnicity, Ability/Disability, Sexuality, Regional Identity and Gender.
Our thriller specifically targets the Gender, Age and also touches on the Regional representations.
Gender:
Our main character is a Female(which opposes the norm of male protagonists) who also ends up being the stronger character, as she results in killing who is represented as being the dominant, more powerful, male character.
However in the beginning of the film, the protagonist is shown conforming to the sexual-stereotypes as she is originally portrayed as a weak prey for the antagonist.
Age:
As said above, the protagonist is shown as a weaker character due to the combination of her being young and also a female, this also avoids the stereotype of main characters as it is very rare main characters are 15 years old.
The antagonist is shown as considerably older than the Kaylin, this was portrayed through the use of Mise En Scene, he is shown in a Shirt with a watch in a domestic environment which is the sign of an older person also whilst drinking black coffee with a paper by his side which also portray him as being elder, whilst Kaylin is seen in school uniform which singlehandedly shows her age.
The use of social network conforms to the modern stereotype that teenagers spend a lot of time on the internet which can often result in them meeting up with potentially dangerous people.

The thriller has been set in an inner city urban location where people live very closely together, for example in an estate where the main character lives. This allows the storyline to be feasible that she comes into contact with many random people, and can also be watched very easily.
